La VERGNE, TN (WGNS) – La Vergne Police say a loud, unmistakable sound—vehicles doing donuts—kicked off a chaotic chain of events around 9:00 PM Friday night. Officers heard the noise coming from Veterans Park and headed that way, only to see two vehicles speeding out of the area: a black Infiniti with no headlights and a white Jeep SUV.
Officers initially began to pursue the vehicles, but the chase was called off for safety. Even after the pursuit was terminated, one of the fleeing vehicles struck a marked patrol unit that was sitting in the intersection of Stones River Road with emergency lights activated to protect other drivers. After the patrol car was hit, officers re-engaged in the pursuit.
The white Jeep didn’t make it far. It crashed on Hurricane Circle, hitting a residence and disabling the vehicle. EMS evaluated the people inside the home, and thankfully no one was hurt…
