BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The California Highway Patrol is honoring a Kern County traffic officer who died in the line of duty 97 years ago.
Traffic officer Luther Hogan crashed his motorcycle on the Tehachapi Highway near the turnoff to Arvin.

The impact ejected him from the motorcycle. Officer Hogan was taken to a hospital where he died on Feb. 26, 1929.
The Peace Officers’ Memorial Foundation says he was just 39 years old. He was survived by his wife and daughter…
