Apartment building planned for parking lot of Alfred Roy funeral home

WORCESTER — A 41-unit housing complex could rise on the former Hammond Street parking lot of a longtime funeral home in Main South.

Main South Community Development Corp. is looking to build a five-story building on the one-time lot of Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home. Since November, the longtime business has moved to 33 Ward St. after a merger with Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home and Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home.
