Day 4 of testimony: Trial of man accused of killing ex girlfriend continues

NEW ORLEANS — The state rested their case again a man accused of brutally killing his ex girlfriend back in 2023, on day four of the trial. Henry Talley Jr. is facing several charges, including firstd egree murder, for the killing of Asia Davis.

Davis was killed around 9 a.m. on May 11, 2023, on the I-10 service road and Mayo Boulevard. Talley allegedly shot Davis four times, then ran over her body. Throughout the trial, witnesses have testified that there was an argument between the two before the sounds of gunshots rang.

Friday morning in the courtroom began with the case’s lead detective on the stand. James Fyfe spent more than an hour testifying on Thursday. Friday began with cross examination from the defense, who tried to discredit how Fyfe came to determine Talley as the main suspect. Defense argued that Talley had been staying with his sister, who also lives in the east, not far from the crime scene…
