KIRKWOOD, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Residents in Kirkwood have filed a lawsuit and are seeking a temporary restraining order to stop the demolition of a home on North Taylor Avenue at the corner of Swan — a property built in 1858 that sits within a historic district.
The new owners, who purchased the property last year, applied for a demolition permit. In that application, they said that after multiple consultations with engineers and architects, modernizing the home through renovation is not feasible and a full tear-down is needed.
