SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Feb. 28, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A man accused of firing a shot and pointing a gun at a crowd that included children during a daytime assault in Salt Lake City is in custody, according to a probable cause statement filed in Third District Court.
Salt Lake City police responded Feb. 20, 2026, to a 911 call reporting a shooting. When officers arrived, they learned five people had assaulted a victim and that one suspect fired a handgun during the incident, the affidavit states.
