Gunman Opens Fire On Car In Late-Night Pearl City Scare, No One Hit

A late-night drive in Pearl City turned into a frightening close call Friday when a male suspect fired at an occupied vehicle, damaging the car but leaving everyone inside unharmed, according to Honolulu police.

The vehicle, driven by a 32-year-old man with a 16-year-old girl as his passenger, was allegedly targeted around 9:50 p.m. The two later went to the Kapolei police station to report what happened. Honolulu police say they have opened a first-degree attempted murder investigation into the shooting.

As reported by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, officers said a male suspect fired at the occupied vehicle before taking off. The car was hit and sustained damage, but no one inside was injured. Police have not released the specific location of the incident.
