ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCIV) — Hundreds of people headed to the beach on the Isle of Palms to take part in the annual Polar Plunge, an event that raises money for Special Olympics athletes.
The yearly plunge includes local bands, a costume party and hot chocolate for participants. Law enforcement groups from across the Lowcountry also joined in, including the Charleston Fire Department and the Charleston County Sheriff’s Department.
