4 people displaced after 2-alarm Perry County house fire

PERRY COUNTY, Pa. — Fire investigators in Perry County are working to determine what sparked a Sunday afternoon 2-alarm fire that leveled a home in Penn Township, leaving several people displaced but injuring no one.

Flames broke out just before 1:30 p.m. in the first block of Schoolhouse Road, authorities said. Crews from Duncannon Fire Company, Newport Fire Department and New Buffalo Fire Company responded to the call and arrived within minutes to find heavy fire coming from the back of the house.

“We were met with heavy fire coming out the back of the house. You could see the porch roof and kitchen area involved,” said Byron Worner, chief of the Duncannon Fire Company. “The fire was coming out the back of the house pretty good.”…
