BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – At the city’s oldest public school, Betty Brackins has spent 55 years educating students as a librarian and English teacher at Baton Rouge Magnet High School — and she has no plans to stop.
Brackins, who is nearly 80 years old, has enough years of service to retire and collect her full salary. She chooses to keep showing up.
