Around the Track: Previewing the DuraMAX Texas Grand Prix

AUSTIN, Tx (CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE) — The Circuit of the Americas, a.k.a COTA, is one big winding road for drivers. 20 turns, all starting against “Big Red.”

“Big Red” is a 133-foot climb right off the starting line that goes into turn one. After that, it’s 2.4 miles of chaos that’ll have drivers trying to undercut and dive-bomb each other to gain position.

Speed is only going to get you so far in Austin. Pit strategy, and when to overtake cars in front of you without exposing yourself, will decide who takes the checkered flag.
