WRNR Has Officially Flipped The Switch In Silver Spring

Earlier this morning, alt rocker WRNR (WYRE-AM) began broadcasting on W228DI (93.5 FM) in Silver Spring under its LMA with Hubbard Broadcasting, adding a new signal to complement its Annapolis operation. The move dramatically expands WRNR’s reach deeper into Maryland.

So what does that mean for listeners? (See map below) In the core red ring, covering areas like Silver Spring, Wheaton, White Oak and Annapolis, it’s essentially heard in cars, houses, and buildings. The purple ring represents solid in-car listening across a wide swath of Montgomery, Prince George’s and Anne Arundel counties. And on a good atmospheric day, the outer blue ring shows how far 93.5 FM can stretch in vehicles, pushing coverage toward Baltimore, Northern Virginia and parts of the Eastern Shore…
