Saratoga County, NY (WRGB) — A harassment complaint in the town of Greenfield on Sunday led to the arrest of a 54-year-old man after investigators said he sent threatening text messages that included a photo of an apparent rifle and was later found with weapons he was prohibited from possessing.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded at 12:29 p.m. to a call on Medbury Road. The investigation led to the arrest of 54-year-old Gerald Ovitt Jr. of Greenfield, NY.
Ovitt reportedly sent an acquaintance text messages in which he threatened to kill them and included a picture of an apparent rifle, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies went to interview Ovitt at his residence and attempted to take him into custody for the threatening messages, at which time he tried to prevent them from making the arrest by physically resisting their efforts…
