GAINESVILLE, Ga. — If Gainesville kicked out the elephant in the room last week with a big win over Chamblee in the first round of the Class 5A tournament, on Saturday they barred him from the property.
The No. 1-ranked Red Elephants demolished Evans, 83-33, in the second round at Davis-Hill gym.
It was as much a statement for themselves as it was for the rest of the classification. After a quick exit to the 2025 playoffs, Gainesville has made a point of showing that that was the fluke, not the norm.
