VERO BEACH — Indian River Stone and Gravel is putting down roots in Vero Beach under owner Dean Roegener, who took over a business in June of last year after relocating from New York with his family.
Rogener said he was drawn to Florida for a change of scenery and a better quality of life. In New York, his commute was about an hour and a half, and he wanted to live closer to where he worked. When he found the Vero Beach operation, he said it fit the skill set he already had from his work up north.
The company is not starting from scratch. It previously operated as Mountain Stone and Gravel and has been rebranded as Indian River Stone and Gravel…
