CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Community members gathered Sunday in Cedar Rapids to honor people who have died while in federal immigration custody and to call for greater accountability.
Organizers say they have identified 77 deaths over the past two years, including 13 so far this year, involving people held by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
