Structure fire damages barn and workshop in Sun Prairie

SUN PRAIRIE — Firefighters battled a structure fire for four hours Sunday afternoon that heavily damaged a combination barn and workshop in the Town of Sun Prairie.

Sun Prairie Fire and EMS responded to County Highway TT at 3:19 p.m. after receiving reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, crews observed heavy gray and brown smoke coming from the roof and eave line of the building.

Battalion Chief Mark Stevens said firefighters deployed multiple hose lines to contain the fire, but extinguishment efforts faced challenges due to building instability caused by fire damage. The structural damage made it difficult for crews to access portions of the fire…
