Editorial: La. builds on momentum with data center boom

With Amazon becoming the latest big tech company choosing to make a big investment in our state, we applaud the efforts of state leaders and Louisiana Economic Development to capitalize on momentum to attract new industries.

The company said Monday it plans to build two new Amazon Web Services AI data centers in Caddo and Bossier parishes as part of $12 billion development expected to create up to 450 jobs.

The announcement puts an exclamation point on the burgeoning potential in north Louisiana, an area of the state still reeling from the loss of some of its major employers over the past few decades…
