Community demands answers in Wichita officer-involved shooting of DeAundre Hill

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Family members and community advocates gathered Sunday at the Evergreen Community Center, more than a month after DeAundre Hill was shot and killed by a Wichita police officer during a disturbance call. The group is demanding justice and a full investigation.

Faith Martin, vice chair of the Wichita Racial Profiling Advisory Board, said the Hill family is calling on the city and the district attorney to take action.

“The Hill family would like to demand justice for DeAundre Hill,” Martin said. “We would like to have the city of Wichita professional standards allow them to review the body cam footage again, and we ask that a full and thorough investigation be completed, and that the district attorney bring charges.”…
