RIO RANCHO, N.M. – The community has a chance to pay its respects to Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Michael Schlattman, who died in the line of duty after being hit by a semi-truck.
Schlattman was conducting a traffic stop on Interstate 40 near Carnuel when the incident occurred. His funeral will be held on Monday, which would have been his 53rd birthday.
