GREENFIELD, N.Y. (WNYT)- A Greenfield man was arrested after allegedly sending threatening messages and resisting arrest, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
Gerald L. Ovitt Jr., 54, allegedly sent text messages threatening to kill an acquaintance. He allegedly included a picture of a semi-automatic rifle. Deputies attempted to arrest Ovitt at his residence, where he allegedly resisted.
Further investigation revealed Ovitt was prohibited from possessing a firearm. A court-ordered search of his residence uncovered the rifle and other illegal items…
