Elijah Blue Allman, Cher’s Son, Arrested in New Hampshire After School Disturbance
Concord, NH – Elijah Blue Allman, the 49-year-old son of pop icon Cher, found himself in legal hot water over the weekend after an arrest in New Hampshire. Reports indicate Allman was taken into custody on Friday, February 27th, following an alleged incident at St. Paul’s School, a college-preparatory boarding school in Concord.
Local police confirmed to People magazine and ABC affiliate WMUR that authorities were alerted after Allman was reported as an “unwanted guest” on the school’s property. The Deadsy frontman, who reportedly has no affiliation with St. Paul’s, was observed in the dining hall “causing a disturbance and acting belligerently.”
Following his arrest, Allman was charged with two counts of simple assault, criminal trespassing, criminal threatening, and disorderly conduct. He was later released on personal recognizance bail, meaning he was not required to post a bail payment as long as he attends future court hearings. Representatives for Allman were unavailable for comment at the time of publication.
This incident marks the latest in a series of challenges for Allman, who is the sole child of Cher and the late Allman Brothers Band singer Gregg Allman. His arrest comes less than a year after he was hospitalized for an apparent drug overdose in California. Allman has a documented history of substance abuse spanning decades.
In December 2023, Cher filed a request for a conservatorship for Allman, citing “severe mental health and substance abuse issues” that she alleged prevented him from managing his financial assets. Allman objected to the conservatorship, and in September 2024, Cher ultimately dropped her bid, though her legal team requested the case be dismissed without prejudice, leaving open the possibility of future petitions.
Cher has previously spoken about her relationship with her son, telling People magazine in October 2023, “I’m a mother. This is my job – one way or another, to try to help my children. You do anything for your children.”
