A fierce house fire on Detroit’s east side yesterday killed one person and left another hospitalized in serious condition, after flames tore through a home on the 12400 block of Maine Street. Fire crews were called shortly after 3:30 p.m. and arrived to find the house already engulfed in flames. The structure later collapsed during the blaze, and a person was discovered inside once firefighters knocked the fire down.
According to CBS Detroit, the Detroit Fire Department said the person taken to the hospital is a man and that the individual found dead “appears to be a man.” Officials have not released the names of those involved, and investigators have not yet disclosed what sparked the deadly fire.
