Rabies Advisory Issued for Marion County

MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Department of Health in Marion County (DOH-Marion) is monitoring rabies among wild animals in the area. This is in response to a single confirmed case of rabies in a raccoon that was killed in the southeast area of Marion County off U.S. Route 441 and SE 132 St. Rd. in the Belleview area on February 24, 2026. All residents and visitors should be aware that rabies may be currently present in the wild animal population.
