Business adapts to bring in customers amid construction in downtown Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Local businesses in downtown Mobile have been hurting after construction started on St. Louis Street, but some have been getting creative when it comes to bringing in customers.

“There’s live music, they have peanuts, spicy and regular, and then there’s local art too,” artist Zack Cox said.

Fairhope Brewing hosted a “Peanut Gallery” event on Sunday, featuring local art and fresh, boiled peanuts to combat the loss of customers caused by construction in front of their business.

“Our business has been a little bit down, but I’m pretty sure I mean, a day like today is just so perfect. We’ve had hundreds of people come out just to enjoy really nice, beautiful weather on a Sunday afternoon,” Fairhope Brewing Owner Jim Foley said…
