HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — In the middle of the night, Bridgett Scholl and dozens of her Carolina Forest neighbors were forced to leave their homes in the Walkers Woods community as a wildfire burned nearby, sending flames towering over the forest behind her house.
Scholl returned to her home Sunday, March 2, 2025, to find it drenched and disfigured but still standing after firefighters worked through the night.
