Data: 4 out of 5 robberies go unsolved by Metro Nashville Police

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A new WSMV4 data analysis shows that the Metro Nashville Police Department is facing an uphill battle as they try to combat a trending robbery scheme at the gas pump — because most robberies in Music City go unsolved.

Metro Nashville Police only officially cleared about one out of five robberies since February of 2021, meaning about 80% of cases went unsolved, according to data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

That puts MNPD’s robbery clearance rate below both the national and state averages of 29% and 22%, respectively…
