About 150 competitors ran the Forest Avenue Mile before the St. Patrick’s Parade

A field of almost 150 runners came racing down Forest Avenue this morning as Johnny Sokoll and Olivia Jaenicke led the way and won the Mark Vogt Forest Avenue Mile Sunday morning. The race, now in its 34th year, preceded the Staten Island St. Patrick’s Parade on Forest Avenue.

Sokoll won the men’s race in 4:20, while Dominic Palermo (4:26) and Reilly Walsh (4:44) placed second and third, respectively.

Jaenicke Dominated the women’s race in one of the fastest female performances here ever, clocking 5:04, with Charli Cosentino (5:38) and Genevieve Pantaleo (5:43) placing second and third for the women.
