These 6 Mass. counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory through Wednesday

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for six Massachusetts counties on Monday, warning residents to prepare for hazardous road conditions that could disrupt commutes through Wednesday morning.

The advisory takes effect at noon Tuesday and remains in place until 7 a.m. Wednesday for Franklin, Worcester, Middlesex, Essex, Hampshire, and Hampden counties. Mixed precipitation is expected to bring up to one inch of combined snow and sleet accumulation, along with ice accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch.

Officials warned that the hazardous conditions could impact both the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. “Plan on slippery road conditions,” the weather service stated. “Slow down and use caution while traveling.”…
