AUSTIN (KXAN) — A video shared with Nexstar’s KXAN shows a Waymo car blocking emergency and first responder vehicles during the active scene of the deadly West Sixth Street shooting in Austin early Sunday morning.
Viewer Matthew Turnage told KXAN he left a club in the area and was ordering an Uber ride home when he noticed the ride was “stuck.” Turnage recorded video of the vehicle on West Sixth Street and Nueces Street at around 2 a.m.

“We just so happened to get a Waymo car from Uber and when we found the car, it was trying to pick us up but got stuck in the middle of the street and blocked emergency vehicles for a couple of minutes,” Turnage said.
KXAN asked Waymo for a comment on Sunday and the company said it would not be providing a formal statement.
