Man accused of murdering Stromsburg couple, unborn baby heading to trial

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Lincoln man accused of murdering a Stromsburg couple and their unborn child is headed to trial.

Court documents filed Friday show that 24-year-old Sterling James waived a preliminary hearing in Lancaster County Court, sending the case over to District Court. He will be arraigned on March 25 at 8:30 a.m.

James is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, first-degree murder of an unborn child and tampering with evidence. He is being held without bond, and his murder charges carry the potential of the death penalty…
