Temporary Tower Crane Attachment Point

The 780-foot tower crane hovering about the future Mutual of Omaha headquarters building is horizontally anchored by “tie-ins” to the building’s reinforced concrete core in several places. The accompanying photo by Brad Williams shows a temporary tower crane attachment point inside the building. The horizontal steel tie-ins extend through the building’s exterior and connect to the tower crane outside. When the crane is eventually disassembled later this year, crews will detach the horizontal beams and remove them. The 44-story, 677-foot Mutual of Omaha tower is going up at 14th & Farnam Street downtown.
