Two women were wounded in an overnight shooting early Sunday on the 300 block of Cedar Avenue South in south Minneapolis, according to police. Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 1 a.m. and found victims with non-life-threatening injuries in the Cedar-Riverside area, where they quickly launched an investigation and began processing the scene.
Authorities say a fight within a group of people appears to have escalated into gunfire, striking two women. An 18-year-old suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital, while a 23-year-old later showed up at M Health Fairview Riverside with a non-life-threatening injury.
