RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office will not be filing charges against one of the alleged suspects in a 2023 shooting at the Zephyr Pointe apartments in northwest Reno.
Chemarion Cooks had been charged with seven counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon and other charges.
In a filing from the county, DA’s office says there were shortcomings in the investigation into Cooks that prevented prosecution and require attention. They say none of the victims or witnesses in the Oct. 6, 2023 shooting could identify any of the suspects in the shooting…
