Key Fob Caper: Waldorf Man Charged In $80K Truck Theft At Dealership

WALDORF, Md. — A Waldorf man is facing felony theft charges after authorities allege he stole a high-value pickup truck and caused damage at a Charles County car dealership.

Chance Montgomery Clark, 24, of Waldorf, is charged with theft between $25,000 and $100,000 and malicious destruction of property valued at $1,000 or more in connection with incidents that occurred in December 2025.

On December 8, 2025, deputies responded to National Motors Incorporated on Crain Highway in Waldorf for a reported theft. The owner of the dealership reported that Clark, a former sales representative who worked at the business approximately three years earlier, had been seen on the lot looking at vehicles.
