70 units at troubled Ypsilanti apartment complex pass inspection, hundreds still condemned

YPSILANTI TWP., MI — The Arbor One apartments in Ypsilanti have seen condemned buildings, court-ordered removals of residents and legal battles. Residents and city inspectors have reported dilapidated conditions and heating and water issues.

But some progress has been made, with three apartment complex buildings recently granted certificates of compliance from city building inspection officials.

A total of 75 apartment units in three buildings located within city limits are in compliance with city building codes following repairs, according to certificates issued on Feb. 19 by the city. Those include 30 units at 721 Green Road, 24 units at 721 Clark Road and 21 units at 720 Green Road…
