Hazmat team on I-270 after tractor-trailer crash causes diesel spill in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Hazmat teams are on the scene of a crash in Montgomery County after a fuel spill on Tuesday morning, officials said.

Pete Piringer, spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Services, posted on X around 6: 10 a.m. about the incident. The crash, involving a tractor-trailer, occurred during icy road conditions on a ramp on Interstate 270, between Shady Grove Road and Interstate 370, said Piringer.

The jackknifed tractor-trailer caused property damage, including a fuel tank, causing diesel to spill. No injuries were reported.
