Dunkirk man arrested for allegedly ‘wildly swinging’ machete

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Dunkirk man is facing several charges after allegedly “wildly swinging” a large machete while walking on Main Street on Sunday night, Dunkirk Police said.

Officials said that Jonathan Gonzalez-Colon, 34, was allegedly swinging a large machete near passersby on the 300 block of Main Street before refusing officer commands to drop the machete. Officials said that Gonzalez-Colon allegedly spit in the face of an officer while being taken into custody.

Gonzalez-Colon has been charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, and second-degree harassment, police said.
