40 Summerville church members stranded in Jerusalem amid escalating conflict

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) — What was meant to be a spiritual journey to the Holy Land has turned into a race to bomb shelters for 40 members of Calvary Chapel Summerville.

The group was just three hours away from boarding its flight home when violence erupted, shutting down the airspace and stranding them in Jerusalem.

“We were going through security and that’s when the war broke out,” Pastor Vic Carroll said. “The alarms went off. They ushered us all to the bomb shelters.”…
