FORT MILL, S.C. — Happy March! As spring approaches, the Humane Society of York County (HSYC) is looking to spring these two deserving pets from the shelter and into their forever homes.
This week, the rescue is highlighting a resilient cat looking for a second chance and a tiny dog with a massive personality.
Cat of the Week: Leela
First up is Leela, a gorgeous soul who is approximately 4 years and 10 months old. Leela’s story is a heartbreaking one; she came to the HSYC as an owner surrender because her previous owner could no longer care for her due to a progressive illness.
Despite the difficult transition, Leela is described as a “beauty inside and out.” You might notice she is missing an eye—the shelter isn’t sure how she lost it, but she has healed beautifully and adjusted well…
