Officials with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner have identified the two men who died in a Sunday morning crash that shut down a major Newhall intersection for several hours.
The collision occurred around 6:50 a.m. at the intersection of Newhall Avenue and Sierra Highway in Newhall. The crash forced the closure of Newhall Avenue near Sierra Highway as emergency crews worked at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner identified the victims as Mario Baez, a 61-year-old man from San Fernando, and Nathaniel Cottrill, a 45-year-old man from Bullhead City, Arizona.
