AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo VA Health Care System is making upgrades to its health care infrastructure during the first quarter of fiscal year 2026.
According to officials from the Amarillo VA Health Care System, the projects are part of a record $4.8 billion in nationwide VA spending to modernize, repair and improve department health care facilities in fiscal year 2026 via the Veterans Health Administration’s Non-Recurring Maintenance program.
Officials noted that AVAHCS improvement projects for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026 are:
- Replace Boiler and Piping
- Upgrade Fire Systems and Doors
- Provide Primary Electrical Distribution
- Site Prep Nuclear Camrea Rm 1330 and 1332-28
- Renovate Building 1, 4th Floor to Endoscopy
- Replace Building 1 Windows
“Improved facilities, equipment, and infrastructure mean better care for Veterans, and these funds will enable AVAHCS to achieve that goal,” said Dr. Rodney S. Gonzalez, AVAHCS Director. “Better care for Veterans is our goal, and these projects will enable us to achieve just that.”…
