BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Baton Rouge Constable Terrica Williams and Metro Councilman Darryl Hurst say they had nothing to do with any taxpayer money going to a man who was out on bond for a murder charge while he spoke to children about gun safety in Baton Rouge in 2022.
The man, Marvin Payne, also known as “Madd Marvin,” appeared on an invoice tied to former East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome’s Safe Hopeful Healthy initiative.
The WAFB I-TEAM found that a man named Roderick Shannon billed Safe Hopeful Healthy $3,041.66 for multiple items listed on the invoice including, “Madd Marvin Gun Safety with the Constable,” “Madd Marvin’s Mechanic Workshop for the Kids,” and a “Community Cleanup.” The events took place in June 2022…
