Samantha Lincoln got the start in game one of the Sunday double feature. The Texas A&M CC Islanders got a run across in the first inning after a walk and a single taking a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the first. Texas Tech, who threw two no-hitters yesterday, would bring up some of the hottest bats in the country in the bottom of the inning.
Speaking of hot bats, Mihyia Davis led off the game with an infield single, Kaitlyn Terry hit a double, and Mia Williams brought them both home with a jimmy jack for Texas Tech to take the 3-1 lead. The next three batters? Single for Taylor Pannell, Double for Desirae Spearman, jimmy jack for Lagi Quiroga. 6-1. The next three batters? Jackie Lis hit a single. NiJa Canady followed with an RBI double to make it 7-1. Hailey Toney would be the first out of the inning with a fly out, ending the incredible pattern developing for the Red Raiders.
Texas Tech would bat around in the inning and after a second straight out, Terry would get her second extra base hit of the inning with a two-run home run making it 9-1…
