The acrimony between the state and the concessionaire who runs its long-troubled Honey Creek Resort continues, with the state now asking the court to overturn a temporary injunction and allow it to end its relationship with Achieva Enterprises, as it tried to do last fall.
Achieva won the contract to operate the hotel, golf course, marina and restaurant on southern Iowa’s Rathbun Lake in 2023. The Iowa Department of Administrative Services abruptly moved to terminate the contract on Oct. 29, following a contentious phone conference with the company’s owners, Beth and Terry Henderson, the previous week.
