An unlicensed contractor will have to pay $17,500 for unlawfully doing over $1 million dollars of work for the City of Harahan, a state regulatory agency ruled.
Galaforo Construction pleaded no contest to five charges of performing work without a contractor’s license for projects for the City of Harahan in 2024 during a hearing with the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors in February.
Among those projects was construction of a Harahan veterans’ memorial park called the Park of Heroes for about $690,000; renovations to the Harahan playground for $135,000; renovations to the city’s emergency operations center for $125,000; and the renovation of the city’s senior center for $125,000, the state licensing board said…
