Southern Colorado sophomore aims for smallbore and air rifle medals at Junior World Cup

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KKTV) – A 15-year-old sophomore at Fountain-Fort Carson High School is preparing to represent the United States at an international shooting competition after rising quickly through the national ranks.

Kelsey Dardas will compete at the 2026 ISSF Junior World Cup in Cairo, Egypt, where she is scheduled to shoot in smallbore and air rifle events as part of USA Shooting’s junior national team.

Dardas began competing about two years ago after moving to Colorado with her family. Her father, an ammunition warrant officer at Fort Carson and longtime competitive shooter, helped introduce her to the sport and coached her early development…
