Hawaiian Council buys 12-unit building for affordable housing in urban Honolulu

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Hawaiian Council has purchased a 12-unit apartment building in Punchbowl that will be converted into long-term workforce housing, marking the organization’s first multiunit acquisition in urban Honolulu.

The property at 1408 Lusitana St., located near The Queen’s Medical Center, was acquired for just under $3 million using federal Community Development Block Grant funds administered by the City and County of Honolulu.
