Pedestrian death renews calls for safety improvements on Central Ave

COLONIE, N.Y. (WRGB) — The daughters of a 77-year-old man struck and killed while crossing Central Avenue in Colonie back in January are questioning whether more could have been done to make the busy roadway safer.

Cornelius Morrison of Albany was hit by a vehicle around 5:34 p.m. on Jan. 14 near Reynolds Street as he crossed State Route 5, according to Colonie Police.

He was transported to Albany Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries…
