WATERVLIET, N.Y. (WNYT) — An 18-year-old man from Afghanistan is facing a hate crime charge after Watervliet Police said he dragged a man from his home in an attack motivated by the victim’s Pakistani background.
Hossein G. Haidar allegedly forced his way into his neighbor’s residence and violently grabbed the victim. The two men had begun arguing the previous day over ongoing political and military tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, according to investigators.
